At least 13 people died and about 24 were injured when a bus plunged into a river, with driver drowsiness suspected as the cause, officials said.
- On Nov 20, a sleeper passenger bus plunged off O'Prasat bridge in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, killing at least 13 and injuring about two dozen in Chey Chumnas village, Kakoh commune, Sandan district.
- Investigators say driver fatigue appears to have caused the barrier strike after a nighttime departure from Siem Reap, police at the scene concluded the bus hit the right-side barrier and fell into the river.
- The bus was on the Siem Reap–Phnom Penh route when it plunged into water about 5m deep, with about 40 passengers believed onboard, all Cambodian nationals.
- Recovered bodies were sent to Kakoh pagoda and held at a local hospital, while police are gathering information and survivors were taken to hospital for treatment.
- The route links Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, with Phnom Penh, a heavily traveled corridor; traffic crashes killed 1,509 people in 2024 and 1,062 in the first nine months of 2025, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
