Video Captures Aftermath of Pikesville MTA Bus Crash that Injured 30+
Crews extracted two trapped people and sent at least 33 patients to hospitals after the crash, officials said.
On Wednesday, a Maryland Transit Administration bus crashed into 12 vehicles and a FedEx Office building in Pikesville, Maryland, injuring 36 people on the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road.
Surveillance footage shows the bus speeding down Reisterstown Road and crossing the median before striking multiple vehicles in a domino-like effect, including one that flipped over.
At least 33 patients were transported to local hospitals, with officials confirming that at least one person remains in critical condition, including bus driver Tavon Giles.
Nearby business owner Neha Gupta, of Neha Threading Salon and Spa, said her sign prevented the bus from hitting her shop, while Tom Fekete, vice president of the Pikesville Improvement Corporation, noted crashes occur regularly at this location.
The Baltimore County Crash Team continues to investigate the cause of the incident while crews work to stabilize the damaged structure, and officials warn drivers to expect an extended road closure along Reisterstown Road.
A public transport car lost control, crashed against at least a dozen veh asses and ended up crashing into a building. The accident left more than 30 injured.
