The Federal Court of Paraná decided to uphold the appeal filed by the Prosecutor's Office and the Paraná Basin Civil Association and revoked the resolution of the Federal Court No. 1 of Paraná, which acquitted and declared a lack of merit for 43 people who were charged with burning grasslands in the Upper Delta area of the Paraná River, the effects of which were felt since February 13, 2020, and were repeated on February 28, 29, and March 1.
The Federal Justice reversed the dismissals and the lack of merit dictated in favor of 43 accused for the fires in the islands of the Paraná Delta between March and September 2020. The measure reactivates a case that seemed to have been closed and that had been closed by the federal judge of Victoria, Daniel Alonso, despite the objections of the Prosecutor's Office and the Municipality of Rosario, plaintiff in the file.
