Bulls' Zach Collins Out for Season, Jaden Ivey Sidelined 2 Weeks
Zach Collins will miss the rest of the season after right toe surgery while Jaden Ivey is sidelined for two weeks due to left knee soreness, the Bulls said.
- On Saturday, the Chicago Bulls announced guard Jaden Ivey will sit out at least the next two weeks with left knee soreness and center/forward Zach Collins will undergo season-ending right toe surgery before hosting the Detroit Pistons.
- Earlier this month, Ivey was acquired from Detroit on Feb. 3 as part of a three-team deal and averaged 11.5 points, four assists, and 28.9 minutes in four games with Chicago.
- Donovan said the Bulls' medical staff ran tests on Ivey and determined, 'they've just got to get him a lot stronger.'
- Collins' absence leaves the Bulls without a 6-foot-9 rotational frontcourt option after he played just 10 games this season, averaging 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 18.4 minutes.
- The coach said, `I think it's been really hard for him personally` and `I think he did everything he wanted to go. Surgery is always the last resort.
