“I want to clarify a confusion of names that slipped in a radio statement. The channel I wanted to refer to is the Beagle channel and never the Strait of Magellan, which belongs entirely to the sister Republic of Chile,” Bullrich said.
The parliamentarian sent a communication to the Chilean ambassador to Argentina, Gonzalo Uriarte, to explain what had happened and to specify the extent of their sayings, which had generated questions in our country.
The Argentine senator and former minister said she wanted to refer to the "Beagle channel" and regretted "having generated uncertainty" with her controversial statement. Trasandino chancellor Pablo Quirno also ratified Chilean sovereignty in the area after stating that Argentina is "a bicontinental, bioceanic country."
