35-Year-Old Bull Rider Identified After Fatal Accident at a Rodeo in Ohio
Police say 35-year-old Jason Saylor suffered a chest injury after being kicked or stepped on by a bull and later died at a hospital.
On Saturday evening, 35-year-old Jason Blake Saylor died after a bull struck him in the chest at Fox Hollow Rodeo near Waynesville, Ohio, about 20 miles south of Dayton.
Clearcreek Township Police Department and EMS responded to Fox Hollow Stables at 1909 E. State Route 73 around 7:41 p.m. after receiving reports of a rider injured by a bull in the rodeo's bullpen.
Although Saylor wore chest protection, he sustained severe traumatic injuries from being kicked or stepped on by the bull, according to police. Medics transported him to Atrium Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Fox Hollow Rodeo released a statement Sunday expressing that "Our hearts are absolutely broken" following the loss of one of their bull riders and "brothers in Christ."
Clearcreek Township police are investigating the death as an accident and request that anyone with video or information contact Detective Sgt. Kevin Barton at 937-748-1267 during business hours.
