The financial assets of the federal government, Länder, municipalities and social security funds have grown by almost six percent last year. A federal state in particular stands out.
More money flows into public budgets via taxes and social security. The federal states benefit more from this than the municipalities, the official statistics show.
The total public budget (Bund, Länder, municipalities and municipal associations as well as social security funds including all extra budgets) had a financial asset of EUR 1 199.1 billion compared with the non-public sector at the end of 2025.
