PRO leader Jesse Klaver believes that Finance Minister Eelco Heinen (VVD) is endangering the cabinet with his attitude during the budget negotiations. According to Klaver, Heinen wants things to go only his way and is insufficiently open to input from opposition parties. Klaver considers it "unwise" that Heinen estimated the opposition would not vote down the budget anyway.

After a very eventful Budget Day, marked by burning hay bales along the highways, red paint dumped on the route the Royals took, and large-scale sabotage on the railway, the Cabinet is undoubtedly facing a fierce debate in parliament today.
It is fortunate that Prime Minister Rob Jetten (D66) and Deputy Prime Minister Bart van den Brink (CDA) intervened at the last moment, otherwise the cabinet would have presented a budget that would have hit the hardworking Dutch person even harder next year.
