On Saturday, 27 December, Emmanuel Macron promulgated the special law which temporarily renews the 2025 budget. It allows for the temporary financing of the state in 2026, pending the resumption of parliamentary debates from January.
This legislative tool, already used last year after the censure of the Barnier government, allows the State to be provisionally financed in 2026 before the resumption in January of the debates in Parliament around the finance law.
