Browns rookie receiver KC Concepcion showing the qualities that made him a first-round pick
The Browns used the rookie in multiple roles as he caught three passes, scored on a 14-yard jet sweep and added a 31-yard punt return.
In his preseason debut on Saturday, Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion scored a 14-yard touchdown on a jet sweep and returned a punt 31 yards during the team's 34-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Browns head coach Todd Monken plans to utilize Concepcion, the 19th overall pick in 2026, in various roles to maximize his speed, explosiveness, and separation skills across multiple positions.
Concepcion recorded three catches for 27 yards in the first half, crediting a block from teammate Tylan Wallace and stating, "I take pride in not letting a cornerback tackle me."
Monken described Concepcion as a "real weapon," and the Browns will test the rookie further on Thursday during a joint practice with the Buffalo Bills before the regular season.
The Browns drafted Concepcion and Denzel Boston in the top 40 picks, marking the first time in 30 years an NFL team selected two wide receivers that high, signaling commitment to rebuilding the receiving corps.
