July 31, 2025 A 56-year-old pilot was killed when his glider crashed just short of McCaffrey Field at Bowenville on Wednesday evening. Emergency services were called to the incident about 5:45pm. The man’s aircraft crashed into a paddock near Wainui Soldiers Road. He was the sole occupant. McCaffrey Field is home to the Darling Downs Soaring Club.
