Brewers manager says of flight piloted by pitcher's uncle: 'I didn’t know Quinn threw a knuckleball'
Murphy said the Brewers used five charter flights to bring family members and employees to the World Series games.
On Sunday, Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy joked about turbulence during the charter flight to Florida for World Series Game 3, quipping, "I didn't know Quinn threw a knuckleball," referencing pitcher Quinn Priester.
The United Airlines Boeing 737 flight was piloted by GJ Priester, an uncle of pitcher Quinn Priester, with cousin Alex Priester serving as first officer. GJ Priester is a member of the family that founded Priester Aviation.
Five charter flights transported family members and employees to Tropicana Field for the games, supporting the team as they hold a 2-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Entering Game 3 on Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers seek to extend their best-of-seven series lead against the Tampa Bay Rays. The team's successful travel logistics position them to maintain momentum.
Pitcher Quinn Priester has not appeared for the Brewers since last year's Championship Series. He underwent season-ending surgery with Dr. Gregory Pearl in June to address thoracic outlet syndrome.
