Brewers Announce Details for Championship Parade, Rally
Gov. Tony Evers declared Friday Brewers Won Our Way Day as 250,000 fans are expected for the downtown parade and free rally, officials said.
On Friday, October 30, the Milwaukee Brewers will hold a championship parade beginning at 10 a.m. at North 4th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue, celebrating the franchise's first World Series title in history.
Governor Tony Evers proclaimed Friday as 'Brewers Won Our Way Day' after the team clinched the championship Wednesday night in St. Petersburg, Florida, fulfilling its historic postseason motto.
Anticipating about 250,000 attendees, Milwaukee Department of Public Works Commissioner Jerrel Kruschke ordered street closures at 7 a.m., with crews installing fencing late Thursday to secure the downtown parade route.
Local businesses including Ian's Pizza scrambled to prepare after learning the celebration date Friday. Managing partner Ryan Donovan said the team 'doubled down' on staffing and coordinated with distributors to stock inventory.
The championship rally at Henry Maier Festival Park will distribute limited-edition rally towels to the first 50,000 fans and feature live music and an exclusive 'Ueck' documentary screening.
