BREAKING: It's official - Cobblers have new owners as SAC complete takeover

On Wednesday, Sports Alpha Capital completed the acquisition of a 70% shareholding in Northampton Town Ventures Limited, the company that owns the majority of Northampton Town Football Club.
Earlier this month, the Independent Football Regulator and English Football League approved the deal, concluding the necessary regulatory and contractual processes required for the transaction.
SAC now controls the League Two club, while existing owners David Bower, Nigel Le Quesne, and Kelvin Thomas retain a combined 30 per cent stake, leaving Northampton debt-free.
Founding partners Joao Xavier and Tim Chamberlain stated they were "extremely proud to become custodians" of the club, pledging to work with the Community Trust, supporters, and staff.
This takeover comes less than eight months after SAC's attempt to buy Colchester United fell through, following extensive discussions between the group and club owner Robbie Cowling earlier this year.
