UPDATE: Naramata Fire Now Under Control
OKANAGAN-SIMILKAMEEN, BRITISH COLUMBIA, JUL 24 – The BC Wildfire Service and local crews contain a small 0.3-hectare wildfire near Naramata Creek with helicopters aiding in suppression efforts, cause under investigation.
- The Naramata fire has been classified as being held and is now under control, according to the BC Wildfire Service .
- The fire has been mapped at 0.16 hectares and was considered 'held' by 12:50 p.m. on July 24.
- Nine BC Wildfire Service crew members and two helicopters, along with the Naramata Volunteer Fire Department, responded to the fire.
- The cause of the Arawana Creek wildfire is currently under investigation and is suspected to be human-caused.
