The rapidly rising demand for weight-loss drugs containing semaglutide and thizzetamide in Brazil has fueled smuggling through Paraguay. According to data from the Brazilian Federal Revenue Administration, more than 76,000 smuggled weight-loss drugs and similar products were seized at the border in the first six months of 2026.
