- Arlindo injected mineral oil and alcohol into his arms himself, despite doctors repeatedly warning the practice could be fatal or cause abscesses and amputations.
- Relatives said one kidney failed before the other around Christmas, Arlindo developed lung fluid and suffered cardiac arrest before haemodialysis, and doctors believed multiple organ failure caused his death while a certificate awaited issuance.
- His burial took place yesterday at the Aguas Compridas cemetery, locals in Aguas Compridas paid tribute, and relatives said Arlindo was unmarried, had no children, and lived with an elderly grandmother who was not yet informed.
