- Between May 2021 and August 2022, Alves allegedly bought over 100 airline tickets for smuggled individuals to travel from border cities to various U.S. Locations.
- Federal authorities arrested four others related to the smuggling ring; if convicted, Alves could face up to 10 years in prison.
