Braves Face Dodgers in NLDS Game 1 Following Wild Card Win
The Braves will use an opener against a Dodgers lineup loaded with left-handed hitters as both clubs enter the series short on pitching depth.
- On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers begin their National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves at Dodger Stadium, matching the No. 2 seeded Dodgers against the No. 3 seed in a best-of-five matchup.
- Atlanta advanced by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies in three games during the wild-card round, setting up a rematch of their 2021 NL Championship Series. The Dodgers struggled against the Braves in the regular season, posting a 1-5 record in six meetings.
- Probable starters for the Dodgers include right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto, left-hander Tarik Skubal, and Blake Snell, giving the team an overwhelming pitching advantage. The Braves' top pitcher Chris Sale threw 6.1 innings on Tuesday and recorded the final four outs on Thursday.
- Hosting Games 1 and 2, the Dodgers retain home-field advantage throughout the National League Division Series, including a potential Game 5. Fans can purchase tickets for these postseason matchups through the team's official postseason ticket page.
- Should the Dodgers advance, the best-of-seven National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres or Milwaukee Brewers begins Sunday, Oct. 11. The Dodgers would hold home-field advantage against the Padres, while Milwaukee would have it if the teams meet.
