- By law the IURC serves as an impartial arbiter and must include both parties, but its decisions often draw scrutiny from consumer advocates and lawmakers.
- Kerwin Olson, executive director, Citizens Action Coalition, said lawmakers limited IURC power but it still has affordability tools like lowering rates of return; he added, 'While it's good to have somebody with his experience...he's always been open to dialog.
