Boy, 16, charged with murder and attempted murder
Police said the boy also faces two attempted murder counts and threats to kill after a 61-year-old man died and two relatives were injured.
On Aug. 24, The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office arrested a 16-year-old following a shooting on Pine Shadow Drive in Goose Creek that left an adult man with multiple gunshot wounds.
Upon arriving at the residence, Deputies located the wounded victim, who identified the shooter and enabled officers to immediately begin canvassing the area for the suspect.
Beyond attempted murder, the suspect faces multiple additional counts including possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful firearm possession, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling.
Following the arrest, the suspect was transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, where proceedings will continue through the state's specialized juvenile court system.
The extensive list of charges underscores the incident's severity as the juvenile court system addresses the underlying circumstances of the violence in Berkeley County.
