Bowling Green resident asks, ‘Where is Bob Latta?’ – BG Independent News
Where’s Bob? I have been a republican virtually all of my adult life. The first time I ever voted was for Richard Nixon. I did not do any research. I heard Nixon claim that “peace was at hand.” That he was going to end the war in Vietnam. We all know how that ended. I continued to vote republican in “most” elections. I believed in most of the republican agenda, in the past. When Trump ran for president, I did not vote for him. I consider that a wise decision, however I did not vote for the alternative candidate. When Trump ran two years ago, I again, did not vote for him. I considered that a wise decision again. I did vote for the alternative, as a protest vote. I’m not sure what the republican party has become, but I know that it no longer represents my beliefs or interests. Where’s Bob? Bob Latta has been my representative for 19 years. He is again running for re-election. What are Bob’s thoughts on the issues affecting Wood County? I don’t know. What are his thoughts on the issues affecting our country? I don’t know. What are his thoughts on tariffs? I don’t know. What are his thoughts on our president? I don’t know. Where’s Bob? If Bob wants me to consider voting for him, there needs to be some conversations between him and the people he represents. I want to know his thoughts on the issues facing us. A debate or town hall meeting would seem appropriate. If the answer to “Where’s Bob?” is not answered, then a protest vote seems to be the next best alternative. Sad that our elections have come to a mere “protest vote.” John WadeBowling Green
