Boston College starts season at home against Wagner
Money Williams scored 22 points as Boston College opened the Luke Murray era with a 76-50 win over Wagner.
On Tuesday, Money Williams scored 22 points as Boston College defeated Wagner 76-50 in head coach Luke Murray's debut at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Murray, a former UConn assistant who helped the Huskies win back-to-back national championships, replaced Earl Grant as head coach. Boston College, picked 17th in the ACC's preseason poll, seized control early against Wagner, which returned no players from last season.
Williams scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half, while Armoni Zeigler added 14 and Zak Smrekar finished with 12. Brandon Benjamin contributed eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Midway through the second half, the Seahawks trimmed the lead to 12 points, but a 7-0 run capped by a Smrekar dunk pushed the Eagles ahead 65-41. Wagner missed 16 of 17 field-goal attempts during that stretch.
Boston College hosts UMass on Friday, looking to build momentum after the victory. The Eagles finished 11-20 overall with a 10-7 home record during the 2025-26 season.
