India demand and emerging-market growth helped the drugmaker beat profit estimates even as North America sales fell 23% and revenue slipped 1.6%.
On Friday, Infosys Ltd reported a second-quarter profit of ₹7,823 crore, a 6% year-over-year increase, while trimming its annual revenue growth guidance to 1%–2% due to a softer market environment.
Subdued volumes, ongoing pricing pressure, and weakness in discretionary spending across retail and high-tech sectors prompted the company to lower its full-year projection from the previous 1.5%–3% range.
Despite these headwinds, the IT major secured large deals worth $5.2 billion during the quarter, with CEO Salil Parekh noting strong growth in AI-related revenue reflects client confidence and differentiated positioning.
Infosys retained its full-year operating margin guidance at 20% to 22% while reporting a net addition of 4,000 employees in the quarter, including 8,000 fresh graduates.
The revised outlook reflects industry-wide challenges in converting AI-led productivity gains into incremental revenue, as clients increasingly tie fees to technology outcomes rather than traditional hours worked.
