Bone Lake Jane Doe identified 33 years after remains found

The head of Bone Lake Jane Doe was found on June 12, 1993, in Scandia, Minnesota. Her foot was found a day later on the banks of the Mississippi River just north of Pig’s Eye Lake. On June 11, 2026, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office identified her as Denise Elaine Sexton Hartley.
