Bombers Keeping QB Plans Under Wraps Ahead of East Final Against Alouettes
Winnipeg is expected to wait until the depth chart is released before naming a starter, with Zach Collaros sidelined by a rib injury.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will delay announcing their starting quarterback for Saturday's East Division final against the Montreal Alouettes, keeping the decision secret until the final moment at Percival Molson Stadium.
Following a rib injury sustained in the regular-season finale, veteran quarterback Zach Collaros remains questionable, while backup Dru Brown took practice repetitions after orchestrating last week's 25-22 semifinal victory over the Toronto Argonauts.
To allow Collaros to test his injury, the team closed their Wednesday practice to the media, mirroring their strategy before the semifinal to prepare for a physical contest.
Montreal's offence, led by newly named Most Outstanding Player Davis Alexander, finished the regular season with a 14-4 record and remains undefeated at home with a 9-0 record at Percival Molson Stadium.
Receiver Nic Demski said the Bombers are focused solely on the opportunity to play football, aiming to compete for the Grey Cup this Saturday. "We just want another opportunity to play football," he added.
