Bomb Squad Called to Investigate Reported Grenade Found in Philadelphia

- On Thursday, The Philadelphia Police Bomb Disposal Unit removed an inert grenade from a rowhome on the 400 block of West Courtland Street in Feltonville after it was thrown through a window early morning.
- The investigation began about 2 a.m. Thursday after an individual threw a "suspected explosive device" into the home; an occupant inside tossed the object back onto the sidewalk.
- No injuries occurred during the incident. Authorities later determined the device was inert and posed no danger to the public, and Police removed it without evacuating the block.
- As of Thursday morning, no arrests were reported. The Philadelphia Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident, which remains ongoing.
- Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them. Investigators were seen examining evidence at the scene while the area was taped off.
