- At about 0600hrs on Wednesday, EOD operatives at the State Secretariat Complex identified and rendered safe an unexploded IED, according to police.
- Following the alarm, tactical teams including the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and Special Drone Unit immediately led the response to contain and cordon off the scene.
- Police arrested Pentecost Elijah, 60-year-old suspect , who is undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will face charges after investigations.
- The Head of Civil Service, Dr. Wisdom Ebiye Sawyer, directed that operations be suspended for the day, and officials said no lives were lost or property destroyed.
