Body of missing Ontario teen found in northern Sask., considered a homicide

Investigators say the remains were identified after a planned search, and police are treating the teen’s death as a homicide.

  • The RCMP is investigating the death of 16-year-old Jaysiiah Webb-Long as a homicide following the discovery of human remains in Saskatchewan.
  • Webb-Long was last in contact with his family on May 16, 2025, while living in Pelican Narrows, Sask., a remote community over 500 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
  • Following an initial missing person report to Peel Regional Police, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit assumed control in July 2025 and deemed the disappearance suspicious.
  • An autopsy confirmed the remains belonged to Webb-Long, and the RCMP has notified the family and offered victim services.
  • Investigators continue searching for evidence and urge anyone with relevant information to contact the Saskatchewan RCMP or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
