Walker Teenager’s Death Ruled a Homicide; No Arrests Have Been Made
An autopsy by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound, and investigators have made no arrests.
On Wednesday, the Cass County Sheriff's Office announced that the death of 17-year-old Dylon Ray Oothoudt has been ruled a homicide by gunshot wound, according to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
Leech Lake Tribal Police Department and medical crews discovered the teen deceased in the yard of a residence on John Moose Drive Northwest in Pike Bay Township around 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026.
The Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Tribal Police, and the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force.
Community members held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night to honor Oothoudt, whose identity was confirmed by friends and family after officials initially declined to release the victim's name.
