Update: According to the Ilion Police Department, the body found behind the Aldi store on Central Avenue has been identified as 38-year-old Christopher M. McDonald. Police said an autopsy on Friday, Nov. 6 did not determine a cause of death.

Ilion, N.Y. – A man’s body was found Wednesday afternoon in woods behind an Aldi grocery store in Herkimer County, police said. A person walking by discovered the body near the store at 166 Central Ave. in the village of Ilion, according to Ilion Police Chief Laurie A. DeVaul. Police responded about 4:30 p.m.
