‘Bob’s Burgers’ Shifts to a Midseason Premiere for Season 17
Fox will hold the Emmy-winning animated series until early 2027 after scheduling bottlenecks left only five spring episodes, executives said.
For the first time in 14 years, Fox will hold Bob's Burgers Season 17 premiere until midseason, debuting early in 2027 rather than the traditional fall 2026 lineup.
Scheduling bottlenecks at Fox created a four-month hiatus during Season 16, leaving only five episodes for spring; the midseason premiere aims to avoid another lengthy gap for the Belcher family.
The last midseason premiere occurred in 2012 with Season 2, Episode 1, The Belchies, featuring voice actors Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Kristen Schaal, and Larry Murphy.
Alongside American Dad, Family Guy, and Krapopolis, the Emmy-winning series will make its Season premiere, aligning with other Fox animated programs for a consistent broadcast strategy.
20th Television head Marci Proietto confirmed a historic four-season order, extending Bob's Burgers through the 2028-2029 schedule and ensuring the Belcher family returns for additional seasons.
