Lei deposits of the population decreased in August by 0.4% compared to the previous month, while foreign exchange savings increased, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) on Wednesday. At the same time, foreign exchange credit advanced by 17% compared to August 2025, well above the rate of the component in the lei.
