Collaros Returns as Bombers Face Stampeders in Critical Playoff Clash
Collaros said he feels comfortable after the injury and will lead Winnipeg in a game that could decide both teams’ playoff fate.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros returned to full practice Thursday and will start Saturday's pivotal game against the Calgary Stampeders at Princess Auto Stadium.
Collaros missed the last two games after sustaining a head injury during the Sept. 12 Banjo Bowl, while the team recently suffered a 37-10 defeat to the Montreal Alouettes.
"It's not a decision you make lightly," Collaros said regarding his return, while receiver Tim White called seeing him back "definitely inspiring."
A victory on Saturday would secure the season tiebreaker for the Blue Bombers, though Stampeders coach Dave Dickenson said, "We have a ton of respect for Winnipeg and their veteran leadership."
Collaros confirmed earlier this week he plans to play next year, though the Blue Bombers remain focused on the present to maintain their playoff hopes.
