Blue Angels Remove Maj. Scott Laux Ahead of Homecoming Airshow
The Navy said Maj. Scott Laux failed to meet squadron standards and will miss the Blue Angels’ final performances of the season.
- The U.S. Navy removed Marine Corps Major Scott Laux from the Blue Angels on Friday, Nov. 6, for "failing to uphold the standards expected" of the elite flight demonstration team.
- During the NAS Pensacola Homecoming Air Show in Florida, the squadron performed with five jets rather than its customary six, marking the naval air station's 200th anniversary and the team's final 2026 performance.
- Laux, a Chantilly, Virginia native, joined the Blue Angels in 2024 and served as the team's narrator during the 2025 season before becoming the opposing solo pilot. He accumulated more than 1,300 flight hours and 169 arrested carrier landings.
- Following his dismissal, the Navy removed Laux's photograph and biography from the Blue Angels' official website. When contacted on Saturday, Laux was described as "unavailable," offering no immediate explanation.
- Chief of Naval Air Training confirmed the dismissal to the Pensacola News Journal but did not disclose the specific reason or removal date. The Blue Angels comprise 158 active-duty sailors and Marines supporting the squadron's mission.
