- Released in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Bloodborne is a gothic horror game developed by FromSoftware that follows a monster hunter through the cursed city of Yharnum infected with a bloodborne disease.
- Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, promised the film will be "very true" to the gory spirit of the game, with Lyrical Animation co-producing alongside McLoughlin and PlayStation Productions.
