Bloodbath: Mordaunt, Mercer and Rees-Mogg among Tory ministers booted out by UK voters
Eight UK Cabinet ministers lost their seats in the general election, surpassing the previous record set in 1997.
Grant Shapps, Penny Mordaunt, and Johnny Mercer are among the Tory big names who lost their seats in the election.
A total of seven Cabinet ministers were defeated, including Defence Secretary Shapps in Welwyn Hatfield, Commons Leader Mordaunt in Portsmouth North, and Veterans Minister Mercer in Plymouth Moor View.
