Bishop John O. Barres of Rockville Centre, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies, celebrated Mass Sept. 26, 2026, at St. Mary Church in El Paso, Illinois, the site of Blessed Fulton Sheen's baptism in 1895. Bishop Barres was baptized by Blessed Sheen in 1960.
