Bitcoin clings to $82,500 as SpaceX results lift stock futures
SpaceX’s 161% revenue jump eased AI worries and lifted Nasdaq and S&P 500 futures as bitcoin held above its key support level.
On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, U.S. stock futures rose as investors tracked corporate earnings, with SpaceX shares jumping 9% before the open, lifting Nasdaq-100 futures 0.6% and S&P 500 futures 0.2%.
The Elon Musk-led company reported a 161% year-on-year revenue increase in third-quarter results, with shares surging around 7% in premarket trading and renewing investor interest in AI-related stocks focused on infrastructure and cloud services.
Earnings news remained mixed across the sector; Netflix shares fell more than 6% after missing revenue forecasts, while Tesla shares rose more than 1% ahead of quarterly results and Meta Platforms prepared to report after the close.
Bitcoin hung just above $82,500 on Wednesday, the level Simon-Peter Massabni calls its most important support, though he warned a "decisive and sustained break" below could expose it to a $70,000 drop; Brent crude climbed to around $110.
Concerns about AI trade sustainability have weighed on market sentiment as traders question whether infrastructure demand justifies current spending, though Christian Mueller-Glissmann, head of asset allocation for Goldman Sachs Research, said this earnings season could help propel stocks.
