The two cofounders and leading executives of Germany's BioNTech will leave the COVID-19 vaccine maker by the end of 2026 to set up their own company, the biotech firm said on Tuesday.
The founders of the Corona vaccine manufacturer BioNTech have announced that they will leave their company by the end of the year. They want to start a new biotechnology company that will focus on mRNA research.
The development of a corona vaccine made them world famous, now Uğur Şahin and Özlem Türeci want to venture with a new company the next mRNA start. Biontech reports a billion loss, the share is under pressure.
Sahin and Türeci were the faces of Biontech, who with Pfizer received the first approval for a Corona vaccine. Now the research couple ventures new things - an incision in times of great losses.
