- Guardians manager Stephen Vogt informed Royals manager Matt Quatraro of Bibee's potential unavailability on Wednesday and acknowledged Bibee's disappointment, stating, "To have to tell him that were not going to have you pitch today, he was obviously upset," noting Bibee still wanted to pitch despite not feeling well.
- Following the opening series against the Royals, the Guardians will travel to San Diego and Los Angeles before their home opener against the Chicago White Sox on April 8, and Vogt plans to assess the situation before adjusting the rotation, with Bibee possibly pitching on Saturday or Sunday.
