BGSU nursing program to celebrate Healthcare Simulation Standards Endorsement – BG Independent News

From BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY The School of Nursing at Bowling Green State University is the first and only nursing program in Ohio to earn international recognition from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning. The public is invited to BGSU to Central Hall’s second-floor lobby today, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m., to celebrate the program’s commitment to delivering quality simulation-based education that helps prepare healthcare professionals for real-world challenges and in celebration of Healthcare Simulation Week. The Healthcare Simulation Standards Endorsement from the INACSL recognizes the program for adhering to standards and best practices in prebriefing, debriefing, facilitation, and professional integrity. Simulation plays a key role in preparing students for clinical rotations and future careers in healthcare. “This achievement represents a significant milestone for our growing School of Nursing,” said Lisa Jacobs, director of the School of Nursing, who holds a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Advanced credentials. “Simulation-based nursing education and research are critical in helping students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and reflect on their performance through comprehensive debriefing sessions. This endorsement reaffirms our commitment to ensuring graduates enter the workforce prepared to provide thorough, evidence-based care.” Jacobs will open the celebration, which will include President Rodney K. Rogers, College of Health and Human Services Dean Jim Ciesla, nursing student Trey Williams, and Rep. Haraz Ghanbari. Attendees are also invited to tour the nursing simulation and skills practice labs to see firsthand how the program prepares students for the workforce, with nearly 100% of students employed at graduation.
