BG Community Center passholders may use BGSU Student Recreation Center during shutdown – BG Independent News
From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN The Bowling Green Community Center will be closed Aug. 10-16 for annual maintenance. The building will reopen Monday, Aug. 17. The Simpson Building will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., for Parks & Recreation business. Current passholders may use the BGSU Student Recreation Center during shutdown week as part of a reciprocal agreement. The SRC is located at 1411 Ridge Street. BG Community Center members will have general use on a “first come, first served” basis of the facility – excluding the climbing wall and group exercise classes – during normal hours of operation. SRC facility hours: Monday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday: Noon – 5 p.m. Cooper Pool hours: Monday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 8 a.m. and noon – 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: Closed Andrews Pool, hot tub, courtyard hours: Monday – Friday: Noon – 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: Closed Parking Parking lots X and 10 offer parking Parking on campus during hours of enforcement requires a parking permit. Hourly permits can be purchased at the parking kiosk in Lot X for $1/hour. Permits can be purchased at the parking kiosk in Lot X, indicated by the “$” on the map. Hours of parking enforcement: Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Saturday & Sunday: No enforcement Entry procedures/general policies: Stay home if not feeling well or experiencing symptoms related to respiratory virus with a fever. Minors are required to be accompanied by an adult when using the facility – only patrons 16 years of age and older are permitted to use the weight/cardio equipment. Enter the SRC facility only through the main entrance off Ridge Street, indicated by the red circle on the map. Accessible entry is available at the secondary entrance off Mercer Road. Patrons requiring additional assistance may call 419-372-2705 upon arrival. Validate BGTACC membership with an SRC staff member. Non-members may purchase a $10 day pass. Sign a general use waiver on first day of use. Patrons are asked to disinfect equipment prior to and after use. Recreation and Wellness recommends one parent/guardian for every four children using the facility. Same room supervision is required for children under 16. No day care facilities are available. For a complete listing of SRC policies, visit https://www.bgsu.edu/recwell/rules.html. Day lockers: A limited number of day lockers are available (day use lock and towel are not provided). Day lockers must be emptied by closing each evening. Contents left in a day locker overnight will be removed and a $10 service charge will be assessed to retrieve personal belongings. To secure personal belongings, patrons using a day locker can: Bring their own lock Use a cell phone/wallet locker located within the columns of the weight room The SRC is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. It is recommended that patrons do not leave valuable belongings in any lockers. Equipment check-out: BGTACC members are not permitted to rent sports equipment from the Welcome Desk but are encouraged to bring their own sports equipment for participation.
