Beverly-based company accused of violating ban on college recruiter payments

The U.S. Attorney’s office for Massachusetts on Tuesday sued Study Across the Pond, a Beverly-based company that prosecutors say convinced foreign colleges and universities to enter arrangements that violated a federal ban on incentive-based payments for recruiting students.The suit, filed in federal court, names the company and its principal, John Borhaug, as defendants.
