Ben & Jerry's reveals fate of Stephen Colbert ice cream
Ben & Jerry's says the flavor will stay in stores and the updated pint removes Late Show references after Stephen Colbert's exit.
The Burlington, Vermont-based Ben & Jerry's confirmed on June 1 that Americone Dream will remain on shelves following Stephen Colbert's show cancellation, stating the popular ice cream flavor "isn't going anywhere."
Introduced on Valentine's Day 2007, Americone Dream has been a staple for nearly 20 years, with Ben & Jerry's celebrating a 19-year partnership with Stephen Colbert that made the flavor a TOP TEN product.
While the flavor remains, Ben & Jerry's is updating pint packaging to reflect Colbert's exit, replacing the suit-and-tie image with casual attire and removing references to The Late Show.
Proceeds will continue supporting charitable causes through the Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund, as Ben & Jerry's stated, "The Dream Continues" in commitment to the partnership.
Fans can still find the caramel-swirled, fudge-covered waffle cone concoction in grocery stores nationwide, with a non-dairy vanilla version also available for the American public.
