A victim of physical and psychological domestic violence, Agnès G. committed suicide in July. Her family recount the harassment she suffered during the trial of her ex-spouse, this Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Belfort.
Already convicted in 2022 for malicious appeals against the victim, Agnès Gauer, 57, the defendant, David Grandclaude, had ignored the ban on contact pronounced against him. In particular, he sent him 1,000 messages in the three days prior to his suicide.
A 43-year-old man was sentenced to nine years in prison after forcing his ex-partner to commit suicide last summer. He had already been convicted in 2022 for malicious calls.
Agnès Gauer, exhausted after four years of harassment and violence, hanged herself on July 12. His tormentor never realized the seriousness of his actions. Even when his verdict was announced on Thursday November 28 at the Belfort court, he denounced a judicial error.
