Bed Bath & Beyond Canada relaunches online, hopes to open first store next year
Sleep Country is using an e-commerce relaunch to revive the dormant brand before opening stores, with plans to add a more curated product mix.
On Tuesday, Sleep Country Canada relaunched Bed Bath & Beyond Canada via a new e-commerce website, featuring about 6,000 products ahead of planned future store openings.
The retailer's Canadian operations previously closed in 2023 following creditor protection filings amid "dramatic" revenue declines, when the company operated 54 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and 11 BuyBuy Baby locations.
President Carol Deacon said the site offers a curated mix of brands including KitchenAid, Umbra, Calvin Klein, and Sleep Country affiliates Endy, Bloom, Simba, Silk, and Snow.
Deacon indicated that upcoming store locations will differ from historical operations, stating, "It will likely be a lot more focused than it was historically for Bed Bath & Beyond in terms of footprint and store size."
Sleep Country Canada remains on track to open a first physical location in late 2027, following the company's 2023 acquisition of Canadian and U.K. rights from Overstock.
