B.C. suspects sought after boy injured in reported assault at ‘Kreepy Kastle’ attraction
Police say the boy escaped and later needed hospital treatment for neck injuries as investigators seek witnesses and video from the attraction.
The Surrey Police Service announced an investigation Friday into an alleged assault on an eight-year-old boy inside a haunted house attraction at the Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar Sahib.
Set up for 10 days to celebrate Vaisakhi and Khalsa Day festivities, the 'Kreepy Kastle' haunted house was one of several attractions at the gurdwara parking lot.
During the incident, the child escaped the two men and fled to his family, later requiring hospital treatment for neck injuries sustained during the encounter.
Police released photos of two South Asian adult male suspects and requested witnesses or anyone with video footage from between 4 and 5 p.m. on April 19 to come forward.
SPS's Major Crime Unit and Special Victims Team are leading the investigation, with the carnival's owner-operator cooperating and suspects not believed to be staff members.
