BBC confirms big shake up for Celebrity MasterChef as new judge announced
The BBC said Locatelli will join Grace Dent after John Torode’s exit, as the already filmed series returns with a new judging lineup.
Chef Giorgio Locatelli will join the judging panel of Celebrity MasterChef's 21st series on BBC One, appearing alongside Grace Dent for the newly filmed season.
Locatelli joins after the BBC sacked John Torode following confirmed allegations of racist language use; Grace Dent previously replaced Gregg Wallace after misconduct allegations surfaced.
Regarding his judging style, Locatelli said, "I think I was a bad cop," emphasizing he is "Strict about cleanliness and organisation. Those little skills that you teach them slowly."
Entertainment figures found it "difficult to cook to the time," Locatelli noted, while sportspeople consistently hit the mark and other contestants focused on creativity.
Previous winners include professional dancer Vito Coppola, who won in 2024, and Drag Race UK champion Ginger Johnson, whose real name is Donald Marshall, who claimed the title in 2025.
