Bayern Midfielder Musiala Reveals 'Neurological' Issue After Collapse During Game for 2nd Time
Bayern Munich forward Jamal Musiala collapsed during a match against Heidenheim on Tuesday, marking the second time in one week the 23-year-old required medical attention after a similar incident against Leipzig on Saturday.
Musiala revealed a diagnosis of "neurological dysfunction" causing brief, temporary episodes of absence that are "easily treatable," though he emphasized there is "no additional health risk beyond this."
Teammates Jonathan Tah and Harry Kane rushed to assist the disoriented forward at Voith-Arena, forming a protective ring to shield Musiala from cameras as medics treated him on the field.
Bayern director of sport Max Eberl confirmed Musiala was conscious afterward, stating "The most important thing is that is well" and noting the player will address the situation publicly soon.
The forward's availability for Saturday's Supercup against Borussia Dortmund remains in doubt, following a history of fitness issues including a 2025 ankle injury that limited him to 15 league appearances last season.
